ASUS ROG GR 8 II – Ein starkes Stück!

There he is, my new ROG PC. Small, fine and completely sufficient for me. Completely adequate? Can not be. For some of you will not fit. Pure from the graphics card.

Okay, we come to the right. The ASUS ROG GR 8 II is available in three versions. Once with Core i 5 6400, Core i 5 7400 and the topmodel with Core i 7 7700. I myself have decided for the middle way. That is, my ROG has the Intel Core i5 7400 on board. This Veriante has only 8 GB DDR 4 RAM, a 3 GB GDDR 5 Geforce Gtx 1060 and a 256 GB SSD.

Of course still belongs to Windows 10 Home and for the genuinely chic style, the case in console format and aura. ASUS is the flag of the front LEDs. Each LED area can be customized and therefore you always have a certain feeling of „wow“.

läuft gut am Fernseher

In addition, there are five USB 3, one USB C, two HDMI, a display port, microphone in, two audio out, LAN and an SPDF. In the delivery you will find an external power supply.

Upgrading is relatively easy. Okay, I still riddle, as I get a second SSD / hard drive. I have two holders here, but I do not know where they are, because the description of the installation is vague and in my opinion, only the disk replacement is described. How to get the housing, you see in my video to the ASUS ROG.

The game performance is not bad. I do not annoy you with benchmarks. These I usually ignore when reading test reports, because I am more interested in what the tester says about the games. Or. Who are going. As a small guideline to the graphics performance, I would like to point out that I play Formula 1 2015 and Formula 1 2016 in the highest settings. This means HD on the TV, full antialiasing, full anisotropic filtering and Phys X by graphics card. Of course all details at the highest level

The only thing I would like to do is upgrade my memory to 16 gig. Well, my old games I will also dig up and look, which may still run. This is due to a new Slim DVD drive. Here on the ROG GR 8 II there is no optical drive. In times of Steam and Co., this is rather a dying object.

I forgot to mention that you can play up to 4k resolutions. VR is also possible. But here I have to fit. When I think of my experience with the VR glasses from the smartphone (also has an HD display), I will fit here rather. It was a little tiring for my eyes. Yes, I am spectacle wearer, which is normally not a problem, but with me it just did not fit.

Basically, you do not go wrong with the ROG GR 8 II. Especially if you are looking for a small powerful PC. I like Mini PC’s, because they need less space, look really good and leave a good impression in the domestic living room.

Of course, you can do everything in your own construction, but currently, this has not reckoned and I would not get such a horny housing. If everything goes well and the prices for graphics cards are really going to fall, you can easily save 200 euros by self-build with almost identical components. Currently, I am only saving 50 – 80 euros. So I stayed lazy and bought the ROG GR 8 II.

And yes, self-made is also a lot of fun. This I had also thought, because there one knows what is installed. In the end, the ROG won because of laziness and the not so high price difference, because Otto.de was on offer.

Conclusion: Definitely a buying tip for gamers and LAN partygoers.
