The minute the Frenchman was below deck, the crows nest began to shout again. Starboard some indigenous people from Spiekeroog, widely known for it’s  whalehunters, seemed to be entangled in a fight against some creature which looked like a strange amalagmation between shark and octopus. They were losing. Some of their boats were already destroyed by the creature and a great amount of corpses and broken wood drifted in the water. Without hesitation Edward decided to ready the canons and shoot at the Monster. Unfortunately the first salvo just agitated it even more but it was in search for a new opponent… the Pink Swan. Nothing knew the crew of fear and horror and it began fighting the beast like clockwork. Edward turned the swivel guns at the creature, he just had one shot, it had to connect. Shouting his orders he took aim and the moment his crew managed to lock the beast in place he took the shot. It hit, its eye exploded inwards and its attack died the same second. While the crew fastened the prey on the ship the Indigenous began to cheer on their boats it seemed as if the fight left a lasting impression for the whale hunters. Edward took his chance and anchored at spiekeroog to trade…

A few days later the Pink Swan was en route to the Volcano Island of Borkum when two Cannonboats blocked her path but, after a short fight, one of the boats had been boarded while the other sank… unfortunately

The short leave on Baltrum had raised the morale of the crew and the Pink Swan could continue her voyage to the Volcano Island of Baltrum to be repaired. Freed of all damage Edward steered his ship away from Baltrum. Suddenly they encountered a thick wall fog and out of this white nothing a ghostship appeared and they didn’t want to get an invitation to tea and crumpets. In the following encounter edwards crew showed their captain, that they were made of sterner stuff. They handled the guns like the experts they were and with a littel help from the scroll Edward found in front of the monastery they were able to defeat the dead husks of sailors they faced. As it is in life, there is always someone who doesn’t like you being successful so the French had used the opportunity to attack the tired sailors after they had exerted themselves in the fight against the ghosts. The miracle happened: tired and nearly out of ammunition the crew of the Pink Swan managed to damage the French Frigatte and the French turned tail but not without destroying the boarded Caonnonboat. The Pink Swan took in the swimming crew of the boat and continued their journey…

Langeoog. Die Inselfestung  der Engländer…

Edward spat the tobacco spit over the railing into the North Sea he would dare the unthinkable, he would search for the legendary treasure on Borkum. Their fight agianst the Ghost Ship had proven, that the ghosts could be defeated with the help of the scroll. It was the Moment of Truth. Was he able to achieve the riches or would he end like all the other fools and strengthen the undead Army which roamed the waters around Borkum…

Edward rubbed his hands together. the holds of the Pink Swan were full of treasure enough to hire every lowlife scum between Borkum and Wangerooge and go ahead with the big plan. The aim was set! The British juggernaut, the stronghold Langeoog!

Edward’s crew scattered over the island and took up the positions they had scouted beforehand. If this plan should succeed the garrison of the island had to be occupied while the attacks on the key targets were executed…

Edward panted and whisked the sweat from his forehead. This governor was many things corrupt, self-centered, incompetent but he was a formidable fighter. Even if he bled from many wounds he still was holding his ground and didn’t give way. Suddenly the door opened and a man Edward’s age entered the room with a loaded gun in his hand. The governor sighed relieved.

„God bless you, Mr. Smith, now shoot this man he wants to kill his majesty’s governor.“

„I am well aware of that“, the man said and shot the governor. „Nice to see you, Edward. My message seems to have reached you obviously. I had to think about your words after only two days of serving this peacock. Congratulations governor Edward Langeoog is yours now. What’s your first order?“

„Lower this rag and get rid of it and then fly the flag of the free men. The future begins! Here! And! NOW!“
