I’ve been working away on the research for the first scenario in the Raben’s Ravens project, which features an evenly matched dogfight on 4th May 1918 between a ‚kette‘ of Abatros DVa scouts of Jasta 18 and a flight of Sopwith Camels from No.4 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps. The Australian War Memorial archives are a gold mine of useful documentation including the squadron record book for May 1918, which has provided the probable identities of the pilots involved, alongside research based on my existing collection of books and reference sources. I think I have everything I need to write up the scenario for play testing, perhaps even by the end of the half term holidays, so I’m going to get cracking to get ‚Digger Dogfight‘ completed.
