[EN/PL] Battle over the Water / Bitwa nad Wodą ( SABRE Miniatures Halfling Archers)
I invite you to the first review of a set of models that I received from Samuel from SABRE Miniatures. today.
The Spanish company specializes in the production and sale of 28 mm resin half-size models (there are more nations in the pre-production!) stylized in the Middle Ages, and more specifically the Hundred Years War between England and France.
The models look very good and preparing them for painting does not require a lot of time.
In the ever expanding range of SABRE Miniatures we have various infantry formations of halflings and a fantastic cavalry of a small people on … donkeys 🙂

And as part of the storytelling, I invite you to read the text on the second theme (the first Battle on the Green Fields) of the most important battle of Tolkien’s hobbits, the Battle over the Water.
The battle took place on November 3, 3019 TA (Third Age) in the Shire area. It was the last battle of the War of the Ring. The battle took place near the Over the Water town and ended with the victory of the Hobbits.
About 100 Big people came to attack, the Hobbits had at their disposal about 500 and 100 brought by Pippin from Tukon. The hobbits who stirred up the rebellion arranged a trap for people, which was a good solution, because Sharkey’s (Saruman’s) people did not act with caution. The battle was intended to deprive the property of the self-declared and governmental power in Shire, Lotho Sackville-Baggins. People (some of them were half-orcs) were armed with clubs and knives when the hobbits had bows and axes.
When people arrived, they came across a barricade, and a few hobbits prevented them from retreating by squaring the road with a few carts. At that time, the rest of the armed hobbits emerged, for the hedges and escarpments, mainly into arches and axes.
Meriadek Brandybuck called on the Warchief for surrender, but the majority did not listen and threw themselves into the fight. 20 of them attacked the rear barricade, or wagons.
The Hobbits shot down six of them, but most of them broke through and managed to escape. However, they were caught by nearby hobbits.
The rest moved to the front of the barricade, wanting to kill as many hobbits as possible and began to climb on the western slope. The Hobbits therefore had to attack them with axes, but Meriadok and Peregrin joined the battle.
When Merry killed the leader of the opponents, the rest of them gave up.
19 hobbits were killed and 30 wounded.
80 People of the Chief were killed and the rest were captured.
The corpses of people were buried in the sand and gravel quarry called the Battlefield.

We wciąż powiększającej się ofercie SABRE Miniatures mamy różne formacje piechoty niziołków oraz fantastyczną kawalerię małego ludu na … osłach 🙂
