Movie – The Happy Film

Es ist wieder einmal Zeit für eine Filmempfehlung! Dieses mal ein Werk, das überhaupt nichts mit Historie, Fantasy, Science Fiction oder ähnlichem zu tun hat. Und vielleicht deswegen eines, das mir sehr präsent in Erinnerung geblieben ist und mich immer wieder einmal beschäftigt.

Time again for a movie recommendation! This time a film that has nothing to do with history, fantasy, science fiction or anything like that. And maybe that’s one of the things that has remained in my memory for a long time and that keeps me busy again and again.

„The Happy Film“ ist ein Dokumentar(?)-Film von und mit Stefan Sagmeister, einem Designer, der sich auf die Suche nach „Glück“ und „Glücklichsein“ macht. Dabei probiert er unterschiedlichste Methoden (Meditation, Verhaltenstherapie und Medikamente) aus. Jeweils mit verschiedenen Auswirkungen. Was er dabei für eine „Reise“ antritt, hat er vermutlich selbst nicht erwartet und gewusst. Mir hat der Film sehr gut gefallen und (wie oben schon erwähnt) sehr zum Nachdenken angeregt. Ein Film für ruhige Stunden, in denen man aber auch lachen darf.

„The Happy Film“ is a documentary (?) by and with Stefan Sagmeister, a designer who is looking for „happiness“ and „to get happiness“. He tries a variety of methods (meditation, behavioral therapy and medication). Each with different effects. He probably did not expect and knew what he was doing for a „journey“. I really liked the movie and (as mentioned above) it was very thought-provoking. A movie for quiet hours, but where you can laugh also.
